The CMAF Industry Forum promotes the adoption of the Common Media Application Format (CMAF) packaging of advanced codec media profiles, encryption modes and delivery mechanisms, supported by both the DASH and HLS adaptive streaming standards.
This survey examines the role of CMAF in enabling DASH and HLS interop, the relative importance of new, existing, and as yet unpublished CMAF media profiles, support for closed caption, subtitles, digital rights management, low latency, ad insertion and event signaling, the role CMAF plays in W3C HTML5 media extensions and the importance placed in an open-source test infrastructure for CMAF content encoding and device playback conformance.
Please fill out the survey below to help in this effort.
NOTE: if you are a playback device vendor or technology provider you can interpret ‘do you use or not use’ as ‘do you support or not support’ in following questions.
