by

ARLINGTON, VA – Jan. 24, 2025 – The following statement is attributed to Gary Shapiro, CEO and Vice Chair of the Consumer Technology Association (CTA)®:

“President Trump’s executive orders this week on artificial intelligence (AI) and digital financial technologies reflect what we’ve said for years: that America must lead the world on these and other vital emerging technologies.

“We look forward to working with Michael Kratsios, President Trump’s nominee to serve as Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP), and with David Sacks, the President’s Special Advisor for AI & Crypto.

“We also look forward to working with Congress on a comprehensive and balanced national AI policy and regulatory framework, consistent with the principles that we released in 2023. To ensure our economic future, America must lead on emerging technologies; CTA stands ready to help policymakers make that happen.”
