Testing and Measurement Methods for In-Vehicle Loudspeaker Systems (ANSI/CTA-2031-A R-2024)

If you’re going to install loudspeakers in a vehicle, you want to make sure they’ll fit in the places you have to install them, and you want to make sure they’ll work with your amplifier. ANSI/CTA-2031-A was created to help people figure these things out. It describes how to report the width, height and depth of a loudspeaker so one can easily determine if it will fit into an available hole. It also describes how to test the power handling capability of the loudspeaker to help the consumer determine if it will perform as desired when attached to the consumer’s amplifier.
