CTA Publishes Accessibility Preferences Data Model
CTA’s Audio and Video Systems Committee (R4) recently published, CTA-2115, Accessibility Preferences Data Model. This document defines a standard vocabulary and data structures for communicating accessibility and related media settings, including closed captions/subtitles, language, and audio description preferences, for devices and software applications designed to receive or play back video programming transmitted in digital format simultaneously with sound. The scope of this vocabulary includes but is not limited to devices and software applications such as TVs, TV media applications, TV “sticks”, set-top boxes, web applications, and mobile device applications.
