Loudness Standard for Over the Top Television and Online Video Distribution for Mobile and Fixed Devices - LM1 (ANSI/CTA-2075.1)

This extension document specifies the LM1 Loudness Management metadata system. This describes a process for extrinsic loudness metadata that is matched to the coded audio. The LM1 metadata can be used with an audio playback system that does not already include (intrinsic or extrinsic) metadata conforming to ANSI/CTA-2075. This enables the management of loudness and DRC. ANSI/CTA-2075 specifies how devices, whether mobile or fixed, that receive OTT and OVD services and create audio output either through a built-in loudspeaker or through an interface to an external transducer or another A/V device manage loudness. ANSI/CTA-2075 is referenced in Section 2.2.
