2019 Future of Gaming

Centered on the video game industry, this consumer-focused study will inform product manufacturers, content developers and retailers/distributers on the current state and future landscape of gaming hardware, content and technology. The research aims to address the following detailed objectives:

  • Determine consumer ownership and purchase intent for both traditional console, PC and mobile gaming hardware.
  • Define the "hardcore," "core" and "casual" gamer segments in order to better understand how each approaches gaming purchases.
  • Understand which devices are used most for gaming and the durations for which they are used.
  • Explore satisfaction levels among current owners of traditional and mobile gaming hardware, the motivations and barriers for gaming and perceptions about the gaming experience.
