This study looks to understand the key differences between three segments of the gamer population: hardcore, core and casual. It also explores which device features are most important to gamers, what they are looking to buy and where they want to learn and shop for games. Specifically, this study examines:

  • The preferences and habits of hardcore, core and casual gamers
  • Ownership and purchase intent for both traditional and mobile gaming hardware, software and accessories
  • Which devices are used most for gaming and the importance of game genre to traditional and mobile platforms
  • Satisfaction levels among current gamers gaming hardware and areas to improve
