The Consumer Technology Association (CTA), owner and producer of CES®, earned a trifecta of victories for CES 2016 at the Trade Show Executive’s Gold 100 awards. CES brought home awards for Largest Trade Show, Show with the Most Commendable Green Initiatives and Best VIP Program at the Gold 100 Awards & Summit last night, which honors leaders of both domestic and international trade shows, including the 100 largest shows that set the industry Gold Standard.

“It means a lot to be recognized by TSE, a leader in the events industry,” said Karen Chupka, senior vice president, CES and corporate business strategy, CTA. “We work hard to create an event experience that keeps exhibitors, attendees and media coming back year after year. These recognitions reward our innovative thinking and strategic efforts aimed at making CES the world’s must-attend technology event, but primarily are a testament to the excitement, energy, impact and tremendous scope of the global technology industry.”

CES is the world’s largest tech event and launch pad for innovation that changes the world. According to an independent audit, CES 2016 welcomed 177,393 attendees from 158 countries, including 7,545 media, 3,652 financial professionals and 3,887 exhibiting companies across 2.47 million net square feet in Las Vegas. CTA works closely with the Las Vegas Convention Visitors Authority (LVCVA) to ensure smooth travel and accommodations for all guests. And this past January, CES 2017 brought more than 180,000 attendees to Las Vegas to experience the latest and greatest innovations in consumer technology.

CES works diligently to make the event as sustainable as possible by reusing, repurposing and recycling more than 81 percent of all materials for CES 2016 from the Sands Expo and The Venetian, and 61 percent of materials from the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC). CES 2016 exhibitors donated 78,000 pounds of materials to local groups including Habitat for Humanity, Goodwill, Boys & Girls Club, Teacher Exchange, Opportunity Village and Las Vegas local nonprofits.

Along with green initiatives, CES also hosts the Executive Club for the more than 65,000 senior-level executives that come to CES every year. This VIP program is broken down into four levels by industry and revenue criteria with increasing benefits including event discounts and tickets, hotel and meeting space, concierge service, private tours, access to exclusive lounges and more.

CES 2018 is the global stage for innovation and will span more than 2.5 million net square feet of exhibit space, with more than 3,900 exhibiting companies unveiling technologies, products and services that touch every industry.
