October 4, 2021
The following statement is attributed to Gary Shapiro, president and CEO, Consumer Technology Association (CTA)®, regarding the announcement by United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai about the Biden administration’s trade policy with China.
“While we appreciate the opportunity for a targeted tariff exclusion process, the Biden administration needs to put an end to tariffs that are hurting American businesses and consumers. Americans have paid more than $90 billion in tariffs since the trade war began.

“As our country recovers from the pandemic, Americans need relief from tariffs. We urge the administration to continue working with our allies on a different approach to address issues with China.”
