The CTA Foundation Innovation Challenge will ask consumer technology companies to leverage their products to solve challenges faced by those with intellectual or developmental disabilities (IDD) in accessing digital health care. This program will particularly target the needs of working age adults (18-64) who developed a developmental disability before the age of 21 and are seeking more independence and control in their healthcare.
Consumer technology companies that are already operating in the digital health tech space – specifically start-up to mid-size companies – are encouraged to apply for this competition. We will ask them to engage with the IDD community focus group created by our partners content to create a new solution or modify an existing piece of technology to address a challenge identified by the IDD community.
Companies will be encouraged to work with outside constituents calling on mentors, the IDD community, academia, nonprofits and more to inform their solution.
The challenge will conclude with an onsite event at CES 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada to bring together disability advocates and nonprofit organizations with the consumer healthcare technology industry to select and award the best solution. The Grand Prize winner will receive a $25,000 cash prize, while runner-up will receive $15,000, thanks to our prize sponsor, Mitsubishi Electric America Foundation.
The entry period has closed. Look for the finalists to be announced soon!
