Robotics are here and consumers are interacting with them more and more in their daily lives. So, what do U.S. adults think of these technologies? That’s the question we set out to answer in the latest market research study, Robotics: Current Landscape & Consumer Perceptions.

Here’s the top three things to know from the research:

U.S. Adults Are Enthusiastic About Using Robotics in Everyday Life

It’s no question, robotics show a lot of promise in making our lives more convenient and efficient, and many U.S. adults agree.

Our study shows consumers expect robotics to benefit our lives, especially in household work and education. Think robotic vacuum cleaners and games that teach children how to code.

Many Consumers See Robotics Benefiting a Variety of Industries

“Consumer robotics are bringing game-changing innovations to sectors including health care, education, retail and delivery,” said Lesley Rohrbaugh, Director, Market Research at CTA.

In education alone, 92% of U.S. adults who are familiar with robotics are enthusiastic about educational robotics, which is the equivalent to approximately 106 million adults who are either already using or are open to using robotics for education.

The Robotics Market Is Set to See Significant Growth Over the Next Five Years

Increased consumer demand for robotics will result in a boost in revenue for various industries. Case in point, the retail and hospitality sector. This industry is projected as the largest consumer sector for robotic products and services and is estimated to see growth from $20 billion today to $72 billion in 2025, according to additional secondary research within the study.

Moreover, the market growth projection for delivery robotics will grow from $12 billion today to $44 billion by 2025, according to secondary research within the study.
