Diversity — of thought, experience, background, skills and ideas — is the bedrock of innovation. The Diversity and Inclusion Working Group of the Consumer Technology Association (CTA)® focuses on helping companies develop and foster a more engaged, skilled, and inclusive tech ecosystem.  It drives employee productivity and performance, fosters creativity and innovation, bolsters employee engagement, improves decision-making, widens the talent pool, reduces employee turnover, and ultimately drives innovation and profitability.  

The Diversity and Inclusion Working Group meets quarterly to share best practices, address business challenges and develop strategies related to emerging technologies, talent management, upskilling/reskilling, and other relevant areas. The council is comprised of executives ranging from Chief Diversity Officers, Chief Human Resources Officers, ERG/BRG leaders, and individuals in roles dedicated to creating a positive and inclusive workplace.  

Key Initiatives

  • Position the consumer tech industry as a leading contributor in building a tech ecosystem that creates Innovation For All. 

  • Communicate the business case for diversity and inclusion within the tech sector. 

  • Promote STEM and K12 pipeline efforts 

  • Inform topics for CTA’s diversity and workforce-related research. 

  • Promote Innovation for All conference programming at CES.
